Sunday, August 26, 2018 marks a milestone for the Habitat for Humanity Clay & Yankton Counties affiliate as we had the ceremonial groundbreaking service at 310 Washington Street in Vermillion. This will be the first Habitat home built in Clay County, construction is scheduled to begin the beginning of September.
The home will be purchased by a single mother of four, Sadio Dini and her four children will put 400 hours of work into making their dream of homeownership become a reality. Before moving to Vermillion the Dini family was homeless for several years, moving from one women’s shelter to the next until they were able to settle in Vermillion. They currently live in a very crowded two bedroom apartment, with homeownership becoming a reality in early 2019.
